Benefiting the Granite Shoals Fire and Police Auxiliaries

We are expecting a tremendous turnout of the general public and cooks to enjoy the games and festival atmosphere planned by the City of Granite Shoals during Granite Fest 2020.  This will be a lot of fun, but the serious side is to raise money to support local charities. We raise money through cook-off entry fees, auctions, raffles, donations and sponsorships.

A Brief history of the Texas Men’s State Chili Championship. It started back in 1970 in San Marcos Texas as the Republic of Texas Chilympiad Chili Championship. It brought in students from the local colleges and the general public that had a desire to compete against the best chili cooks from all over the country. In its prime the event had 500 entries into this great cook off. It also brought out thousands of spectators and visitors to the city of San Marcos. It was Held in San Marcos until 2001.
